Majete Wildlife Reserve

Majete wildlife reserve is an exceptional conservation and tourist destination in Malawi. The continued restoration of the park and efforts to protect the endangered species that inhabit it have made Majete one of the most popular reserves in the country. You will begin your tour from Lotus Hotel by Serendib which is located in Namiwawa. Namiwawa is situated five minutes away from the commercial city of Blantyre. From Lotus Hotel you will be picked up by your Serendib tour guide who will drive you to Majete Wildlife Reserve which is located in the south-western part of Malawi.

Majete Wildlife Reserve is an extensive 700 square kilometer tract of pristine miombo woodlands in the west, dry savannah in the east and thickets along the river banks with thriving wildlife and plentiful birdlife. The reserve boasts a healthy population of elephants, black rhinos, sable, eland, zebra, hartebeest, lion, leopards and other common antelope species. Majete also shelters over 300 bird species, making it a perfect greenland to explore all year long.

For outdoor activities, you can select from a range of guided options such as bush walks, drives, boat cruises along the Shire river and local community tours of your liking. Other tourist attractions include viewing hides, waterholes and picnic sites.
